Celandine (Chelidonium majus)   

Brief Background:
Greater celandine has been used historically in Europe for the treatment of many diseases. Although celendine is considered somewhat toxic, German doctors have used its extracts extensively for decades. It is also an herb utilized in traditional Chinese medicine.

Expert Opinion and Historic Precedent:
In a remote mountainous area in the northern Albanian Alps, the use of the aerial parts of Chelidonium majus to treat jaundice is based on the doctrine of signatures

Several reports exist on Chelidonium majus L. and its use as a medicinal agent, especially for use in cancer patients. In Russian ethnobotanical medicine, Chelidonium majus has been used to alleviate symptoms in cancer patients.
