Apricot

Apricot

Apricot (Prunus armeniaca)

Apricot is a member of the rose family and is native to east Asia. The vitamin rich oil is  known for its high vitamin E, vitamin A, and essential fatty acid content. Potassium and other minerals, such as calcium and iron, are also contained in apricots. The traced minerals copper, manganese, and zinc are also present. The phytonutrients in apricots are lycopene, beta-carotene and quercetin.

Apricots are considered among the longevity fruits contained in high amounts in the long-living Hunza’s diet. The Hunzas are a group of about 30,000 people living at high altitude in the Himalaya Mountains. Many health care professionals traveling to this region report unusual longevity in the Hunzas ranging from 100 to 120 years; the Hunza diet is often referred to as a main reason for the long lived nature of this group.

Apricot oil penetrates the skin easily and is recommended for dry, mature, or sensitive skin because of its softening and moisturizing properties. When used on hair, helps to retain elasticity and moisture.

I’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
