Hot Oil Treatment
A Hot Oil Hair Treatment is an excellent way to keep your hair healthy and conditioned. Whether you make your own treatments at home, buy them from the store, or visit a salon stylist for one, it is an excellent choice for a deep condition that maintains a beautiful and lustrous healthy head of hair.
Every day styling that includes, chemical treatments, blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons, use of synthetic products, and over drying from shampoo, can damage hair. Along with every day environmental issues like pollution and weather can cause damage like hair breakage, split ends, and hair loss.
Hot oil treatments have several benefits that are recommended for maintaining healthy hair. The heated botanical oils penetrate to the hair shaft nourishing and repairing damaged hair. Those who suffer from scalp disorders like dandruff, hair loss, psoriasis, and hair breakage are prime candidates for a weekly hot oil treatment. Hot oil treatments are an excellent way to grow hair as well. Many of my clients have seen an immediate improvement after only one use.
As an experienced herbalist, I recommend the oils, avocado, almond, jojoba, evening primrose, hemp seed, apricot, wheat germ, macadamia nut, flax seed, grapeseed, lavender, clary sage, and ylang ylang. This formula was carefully chosen to create a beautiful balance of naturally healing, soothing, and conditioning botanicals leaving hair and scalp healthy and maintained.
Several scalp disorders like dandruff, hair loss, psoriasis, and hair breakage can benefit from a weekly hot oil treatment. After shampooing with one of our natural shampoos, warm the bottle of oil in hot water. Apply oil to the scalp and message a few minutes before continuing onto the rest of hair. Make sure the oil is thoroughly distributed on every strand. The oils will penetrate allowing the botanical therapy to naturally condition hair. Put a plastic cap on and sit under the dryer for at least 20 minutes. Finally, rinse the oil out and follow with one of our recommended natural conditioners.
Please find below a detailed explanation of the healing oils found in Herbal Songstress, Hot Oil Treatment.
Avocado oil is nourishing for hair. Its properties and texture makes it especially suitable for use on hair and scalp. It also helps heal sun damage and scars. It is the sterolins (also called plant steroids) in the oil that helps to soften the hair and skin and imparts a superior moisturizing effect. It is an extremely good moisturizing and nourishing oil that assists in the regeneration and rejuvenation of hair and skin.
Almond oil, hair can benefit from this essential oil. It is high in mono and polyunsaturated fatty acids, and contains naturally occurring Vitamins A, B1, B2, B6 and Vitamin E. Sweet Almond Oil has been used as an ingredient for softening and moisturizing. It is excellent in promoting the natural beauty of hair.
Jojoba oil increases hydration and balances moisture in hair.
Evening primrose oil has a content called GLA (Gamma-Linolenic Acid) which helps to make our hair stronger and healthier. Another content of primrose is a linoleic acid. Both the GLA and linoleic acid are important for the maintenance of skin, hair and nails. Primrose is recommended as an intensive treatment for dry skin, scalp, and hair.
Hemp seed oil is a complete protein that is richly endowed with a favorable ratio of Essential Fatty Acids. Hemp seed oil has well known uses in skin and hair care products. Its oil helps with damaged hair shafts and does not leave a greasy or oily residue.
Apricot oil is a member of the rose family and is native to East Asia. The vitamin rich oil is known for its high vitamin E, vitamin A, and essential fatty acid content. Apricot oil penetrates the skin easily and is recommended for dry, scalp because of its softening and moisturizing properties. When used on hair, helps to retain elasticity and moisture.
Wheat germ oil is one of the richest sources of vitamin E and is known for its antioxidant properties, improves circulation of blood that helps to repair skin cells. It has been used for dermatitis because of its exceptional nourishing qualities. The Vitamin E Oilpresent in Wheat Germ Oil promotes healthy hair growth and is great for nourishing and rejuvenating dry, damaged hair.
Macadamia nut oil extracted primarily from Hawaiian and Australian macadamia nuts, this oil boasts a higher percentage of monounsaturated fat than even olive oil. The nut’s oil is nutritious — a great source of calcium, B complex, phosphorus and iron. Macadamia nut oil contains the highest amount of palmitoleic acid (an Omega 7 fatty acid) of any plant. Palmitoleic acid is plentiful in our skin and hair. It is a natural moisturizer that attracts and traps moisture from the air. Macadamia oils non-greasy and is easily absorbed into the hair shaft and scalp. Macadamia nut oil contains proteins, and its vitamin E. The high count of mono-unsaturated fatty acids makes the oil mimic the sebum (naturally produced oil on scalp and skin which protects it from damage). All of these qualities contribute to its reputation as a superb hair and scalp.
Flax seed oil is abundant in omega-3 fatty acids shown to contribute to healthy hair growth. Hair and scalp problems respond well to the revitalizing and nourishing properties found in flaxseed oil. The low levels of omega 3 fatty acids in hair may cause dry hair and scalp. The nourishing components prevent hair from becoming dry and brittle.
Grapeseed oil has a lighter texture that penetrates easily into the scalp and hair shaft. The seeds have powerful antioxidants.
Olive oil may be applied to the hair and scalp for condition. As a hair and scalp treatment, olive oil can help to relieve dry scalp, restore the hair’s strength, shine, and nourishment.
Lavender replenishes and rejuvenates dry hair. It strengthens the roots of the hair, promoting hair growth and increases hair luster and vibrancy.
Clary sage has been used to promote hair growth. The essential oil reverses hair loss problems and strengthens hair for better manageability and luster. It has also been used as a hair loss preventative.
Ylang Ylang essential oil is used as a scalp stimulant to encourage hair growth and can be beneficial when used to combat inflammation and reduce peeling off of skin by regularizing sebum production caused by eczema and psoriasis.

when i was little i had eczema and i used a cream which made it go away but stained my skin. in other words made it darker than its natral light and fair colour.i really really want my normal skin colour bak and i think that the sun has made it worse with a tan. any suggestiions on how to get it bak? what could i use on it?
Many people suffer from eczema. About ten years ago, I broke out with eczema for the first time. The doctor prescribed steroids, a very common prescription, along with some type of cream. I don’t even remember the name of it, but it only gave me a little relief. That’s when I began searching for natural remedies. Oils like cocoa butter, Castor Oil, palmorosa, and lavender, helped to relieve many of the symptoms associated with eczema. Over time, the scars from the eczema faded. I recommend you use the, BUTTERLICOUS BODY BUTTER, and the ECZEMA SOAP, offered on our site. They have many of the beneficial ingredients I mentioned and more. I hope you found this information helpful.
Hi ? very good site you have created. I enjoyed reading this posting. I did want to write a remark to tell you that the design of this site is very aesthetically pleasing. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor. I have always enjoyed working with computers and am trying to learn code in my spare time.
Sure, no problem. I will check out your site later to see how it worked out. Thanks.
Thank you. Using a designer was another worthy INVESTMENT. I enjoy formulating natural products and counseling customers. I’m also working on my doctorate degree. That leaves me with little time to spare…
That’s brilliant!

I sneak and obsesses over the pretty, pretty colors. I’m not even sneaky about it. Instead of commenting on the articles, I do a little combo. Sneak it in with a special comment about the… DESIGN. Well, i know hair loss is not a disease, but i just discover that many people don’t feel free when they discover that they are lossing hairs from the top of their heads. Does this always lead to baldness? Can anything be said or done about this issue, if yes, what is it ?
